Newstalk 106-108 fm, Ireland’s national independent talk radio station, have gone on the road, broadcasting live from all across the country. Newstalk now have their own specially designed outside broadcast unit which can been seen in every corner of Ireland, bringing Newstalk right to your door. Listeners can meet Newstalk presenters such as George Hook, Sean Moncrieff, Claire Byrne and Eamon Keane.

NEWSTALK BEST LOCAL 2009
Cork - August 14th 2009

In association with the Vintners' Federation of Ireland (VFI), The Boothouse Bar in Cork has won the Newstalk Best Local 2009 competition. Four provincial finalists were announced and listeners then voted for their overall favourite. Sean broadcast live from The Boothouse Bar on Friday, 14th August to celebrate their win. 

GALWAY RACES OUTSIDE BROADCAST
Galway – July 30th & 31st 2009

Newstalk went to the Galway races on Thursday 30th and Friday 31st July. Moncrieff, The Right Hook and Off the Ball all broadcast live from Eyre Square in Galway while the racing was taking place at the Galway Race Course. Ivan Yates (pictured) took the reign's in place of George Hook to present The Right Hook and Ger Gilroy presented Off the Ball.

OFF THE BALL ROADSHOW
Kerry – July 27th 2009

On Monday 27th July, Off the Ball broadcast live from McSorley’s Bar in Killarney. This was the fourth of 6 live GAA shows that the lads are doing across the country in conjunction with Ulster Bank. Guests included Darran O’Sullivan (pictured), Mike Sheehy, Seamus Moynihan and Mick O’Dwyer.

MARKS & SPENCER OUTSIDE BROADCAST
Grafton Street – July 16th 2009

To celebrate the 1st anniversary of M&S’s rooftop cafe, Tom Dune and The Right Hook teams broadcast live from the M&S window on Grafton Street, Dublin. Guests on the day included Pat Rabbitte (pictured), Vincent Browne and Dickie Rock.

OFF THE BALL ROADSHOW
Galway – July 13th 2009

On Monday 13th July, Off the Ball broadcast live from Massimo’s Bar in Galway. This was the third of 6 live GAA shows that the lads are doing across the country in conjunction with Ulster Bank. The main guests on the day were former Mayo GAA player David Brady and Galway GAA footballer Finian Hanley.

Letterkenny - June 29th 2009

On Monday 29th June, Off the Ball broadcast live from McGinley’s Bar in Letterkenny. This was the second of 6 live GAA shows that the lads are doing across the country in conjunction with Ulster Bank. The main guests on the day were GAA legends Liam Bradley, Charlie McGrew & Matt Gallagher.

On Monday 15th June, Off the Ball broadcast live from the Liquid Lounge in Clancy's Bar in Cork. This was the first of 6 live GAA shows that the lads are doing across the country in conjunction with Ulster Bank. Their main guests were GAA legends Sean Og O'Hailpin & John Gardiner.

VOLVO OCEAN RACE
Galway - May 26th & 27th 2009

We travelled to Galway for the Volvo Ocean Race on the 26th & 27th of May to soak up the sun and the atmosphere on the Galway seafront. Moncrieff & The Right Hook broadcast live from the Newstalk broadcast unit on Friday and then Weekend Blend and The Saturday Sports Show broadcast on Saturday.

MARKS & SPENCER 125 YEARS CELEBRATION
Grafton Street, Dublin - May 20th 2009

To celebrate the 125th birthday of Marks & Spencer, Newstalk moved to the front window of M&S for the day. Tom Dunne, Moncrieff and The Right Hook all broadcast their shows live from the window facing onto Grafton Street in Dublin. Some of the guests that joined in the celebrations were comedian PJ Gallagher & musician John Spillane.

HIBERNIAN STORE OPENING
The Square, Tralee, Co Kerry - May 8th 2009

After officially opening the new Hibernian store in The Square in Tralee, George braodcast his show live from the Newstalk road-show vehicle positioned outside the store. George's guests on the day included rugby legend and analyst David Corkery and Kerry native, Senator Mark Daly.

MUNSTER V LEINSTER SEMI FINAL
Croke Park Hotel & The Big Tree, Dublin - May 2nd 2009


This special double broadcast was for the Munster Leinster semi-final in Croke Park. It kicked off with the Saturday Sports Show in the roadcast unit outside the Croke Park Hotel and then handed over to the Off the Ball team in The Big Tree pub in Dorset Street for a one-hour special show.

THE RIGHT HOOK OUTSIDE BROADCAST
Malahide Library, Co Dublin - April 23rd 2009


George and the team broadcast their show live from the Malahide Library in Malahide, Co Dublin to celebrate 100 years in existence. There was a great turnout on the day as people turned up to hear George talk to Jim Glennon, Trevor Sargent and authors Joe O'Brien and Jacinta McDevitt (pictured).

Stephen's Green, Grafton Street, Dublin - March 30th 2009


Tom Dunne broadcast live from the Stephen's Green Shopping Centre on Grafton Street, Dublin on Monday 30th March. He did a special 1-hour broadcast from the radio pod on the second floor, where he interviewed infamous footballers Toto Schillaci and Ray Houghton.

Moncrieff and The Right Hook went on the road in the Newstalk roadcaster to broadcast their shows from John Roberts Square in the heart of Waterford. Some of their guests included Ivan Yates, Monica Leech and Jill Hinks.

Off the Ball broadcast live from The Purdy Kitchen in Temple Bar Dublin for the launch of the new Gillette sports care range for men. Along as the live radio broadcast, there were many other activities for guests to participate in like the games room and a gents salon! Guests included Brian O'Driscoll.

George Hook and The Right Hook team broadcast from Colaiste Mhuire Co-Ed school in Thurles, Co Tipperary to oficially launch the school's relaunch in January 2009. George paid a surprise visit to come of the classrooms to get a feel of what its like to be back in school!

George Hook broadcast his show from the infamous Guinness Brewery at St James Gate in Dublin on the 21st November to celebrate. Guests included rugby analyst Jim Glennon, politician Ruairi Quinn and soccer pundit John Giles (pictured).

LIMERICK OUTSIDE BROADCAST
O'Connell Street, Limerick – November 17th & 18th 2008

Moncrieff and The Right Hook returned once again to O'Connell Street in Limerick to broadcast from outside Debenhams on the 17th and 18th of November. The shows broadcast live from Newstalk broadcast vehicle. Guests included All Black rugby legend Jonah Lomu (pictured), Ivan Yates, David Corkery and Celia Holmen Lee.

HALIFAX OUTSIDE BROADCAST
Sandyford, Dublin – November 6th 2008

Tom Dunne broadcast his show from the Halifax store in Sandyford on the 6th November to celebrate its official opening. The broadcast was also in collaboration with the Toys 4 Big Boys exhibition taking place in the RDS that weekend. Guests on the show included comedian Neil Delamere.

Newstalk moved to Kilkenny in September to broadcast from the National Ploughing Championships. Over 3 days The Breakfast Show, Tom Dunne, Lunchtime, Moncrieff and The Right Hook all broadcast live from the Newstalk outside broadcast unit. Guests included Luka Bloom, Enda Kenny and Hector.

Life! with Orla Barry and The Right Hook both broadcast their shows live from the Marks & Spencer window on Grafton Street in Dublin to launch their newly refurbished store on May 1st 2008. Orla's guests included Michael Hayes from the TV series How Low Can You Go? and George spoke to boxer Bernard Dunne among others.
